About Delivery

What long does each workshop go for?


Each workshop runs from 9:30am - 4:30pm.




What software do I need on my computer?


All you need is an internet browser (we recommend Chrome). Each workshop is delivered through Zoom webinar and you are not required to have your own Zoom account.




What hardware do I need on my computer?


You will need a webcam and a microsoft to participate, along with a good internet and keyboard/mouse. I request that each student turn on their webcams to build better engagement with the facilitator and other students.




How is the course delivered?


The course is delivered completely online through Zoom webinar.




What happens when I miss a class?


If you miss a class due to illness, you will be able to reschedule into the next workshop of the same topic.

If you miss a class due to another reason, unfortunately you will forfeit the class. You may re-book yourself into the next workshop at a discounted cost.




Do I get a certificate for completing a course?


On completion of each workshop or complete course, you will receive a certificate of participation.




Is there homework or assessments to complete the course?


There are no assessments or homework to complete.




Is the course nationally-recognised?

Can I get credit for the workshop attended towards the full Diploma?


Unfortunately, you won’t be able to get credit towards the full Diploma. There are administrative and compliance processes for accreditation which would not be completed for these online workshops. These online workshops are designed to be quick and easy to complete.

What is a Merchandise Planner?


Merchandise Planners deliver compelling and profitable customer offers that drives the merchandise strategy through business-trend analysis, optimising inventory and profit outcomes. Key functions include

  • Accountability for business planning and alignment of category and store planning, ensuring the most commercial decisions are made to maximise sales and gross margin intake
  • Working alongside the Brand Director/General Managers and Buying




What is a Retail Buyer?


Retail Buyers are responsible for identifying and constructing balanced product ranges which are consistent with the brand strategy in order to maximise commercial opportunities and deliver optimum profit and growth. Tasks usually include:

  • Developing and delivering product strategies for each brand/category portfolio which direct links to the company’s overall strategy and relevant customer segments
  • Managing complete range selection, order placement and financial performance of the business, including budgets and pricing.




How were these workshops developed?


The workshops have been derived from the accredited Diploma of Retail Merchandise Management – a course developed by the Australian Retailers Association for retail buyers and merchandise planners. The Diploma aims to set best practice standards for merchandising and encompasses all elements including setting merchandise strategy, analysing post-trade sales, developing merchandise and category financial plans, developing product ranges, conducting efficient buying trips, promoting products and so much much.

The online workshops on this page follow the exact curriculum without the need for assessments and homework – perfect for the busy individual.

Can you conduct the training in my shop/venue (face-to-face)?


In-house training will also be conducted at your venue of choice once social distancing restrictions are lifted. If you don’t have a training venue, let us know and we can organise one (cost will be paid for by the customer).

Yes, customisation is one the best ways to ensure training is relevant to your team. Customisation can include imbedding your strategies, setting projects specific to your business and others.
