  • How consumers elect to pay for goods has a significant impact on retailers’ costs and profits.

  • New innovations in payment practices is ongoing, and payment security is increasingly important.

  • The AMPF is comprised of retail personnel from senior finance, operations, payments strategy, IT and digital commerce roles

  • The AMPF Committee supports and shapes the ARA’s quest to achieve industry-wide equity and payment efficiency for merchants.

Committee Charter

ACHIEVEMENTS

AMPF provides a conduit to advocacy across a number of areas:

  • Merchant payments, electronic payments, merchant surcharges, authentication, and scheme network routing.

  • The ARA lobbies for solutions to issues such as: increasing instore theft and fraud, the need for improved data protection, and cybersecurity protocols.

  • Least cost routing

  • Transparency of Scheme fees

  • Afterpay

  • Regulation of All Payments Systems

  • Digital Wallets/Payment Apps: Concerns about interoperability
